IRISH LANGUAGE FOR BEGINNERS

Join Kieran Walker to learn some basic words and phrases in the Irish language. We’ll learn basic greetings, talk about the weather, and other useful bits of language. Your fee includes FREE ENTRY to the Irish Pop-Up Gaeltacht that happens immediately after the class and gives you the chance to practice some of your newly acquired Irish language skills.

 

POP-UP GAELTACHT

Level: Beginners with some experience

*In-Person | Saturday, Oct. 26 | 2:30pm - 3:30pm (Note later start time, this workshop is only 60 mins)

Whether you’re fluent or just learned the basics, come down for some conversation in Irish, there’ll be loads of craic! This Pop-Up is included for FREE, when you sign up for Kieran’s Irish Language workshop. Otherwise, the fee is $15.

Kieran Walker is from Halifax, Nova Scotia, and began learning Irish at Saint Mary’s University, where he is now teaching. While at Saint Mary’s, he had the opportunity to study Irish in Connemara. Kieran then spent over a year in Ireland honing his language skills and completing a Master of Arts degree in linguistic anthropology. He has been teaching Irish for more than three years now, both online and in person. Kieran also sits on the board of An Cumann: The Irish Association of Nova Scotia.
