Participants will also learn how to play the spoons with Ethan Graves, so by the time we finish our workshop, we will put our dancing and spoon playing to the test by having a Métis Kitchen Party. This workshop is suitable for all ages and abilities. Spoons will be available to borrow for this workshop.

Brianna Lizotte is a fiddler currently living in Edmonton Alberta. She grew up in a household where music was played, whether it was from home videos or kitchen parties. At the age of 10, most of the musicians in her family passed away, so she took it upon herself to keep the music alive. This has led her to many opportunities such as competing twice in the Canadian Grand Masters, music festivals across Alberta, and traveling to Rome to support the Metis delegates during their meetings with the Pope in 2022.

Ethan Graves (spoons): Ethan Graves is a performer, educator, and composer from Edmonton, Alberta. His musical DNA is rooted in the worlds of Jazz and Western Classical music, with his soundscape being formed from the music of Hal Crook, Bob McChesney and Leonard Bernstein. You'll see Ethan performing with Brianna Lizotte on Friday night. At Saturday's workshop, Ethan will be teaching you how to play the spoons to accompany Brianna on fiddle.
